But behind the scenes, macOS Catalina has a number of new security features designed to ensure the Mac remains a safe and secure environment, protecting users from exploits and malware without creating obstacles or placing limits on how you can use your Mac. MacOS Catalina has some interesting new features, including Screen Time and Sidecar, and new apps, including Music, Podcasts, and Apple TV, that essentially replace iTunes. There are likely to be more than a couple of changes that we the everyday Mac users may not be aware of but thanks to our friends at OWC, changes to OS security need not be one of them. Like it or not Catalina, the next version of macOS, is due to hit our software update system preferences soon, probably in late September based on previous track record.
